IntroducƟon The IntelliGway HM101 is a HART® Protocol Gateway which finds wide applicaƟons in Process Control InstrumentaƟon. It is used to convert an incoming digital HART® signal superimposed on an analog 4-20 mA current loop, to the Modbus protocol as a RS-485 signal. The IntelliGway HM101 can accept up to four such HART® channels and convert their digital informaƟon to drive a common Modbus port. The IntelliGway HM101 works in only point to point mode, with each HART® channel appearing as a load in series with a 4-20 mA loop. This mode allows the user to conƟnue transmit the primary variable PV as a 4-20 mA analog signal to the DCS or PLC in their exisƟng setup, and extract other digital informaƟon for different purposes via HM101. It has in-built loop resistors to pick up the respecƟve HART® signals thereby eliminaƟng the need of any external components.
